Penhaligon's boutiques to open in Saks Fifth Avenue stores

Saks Inc. (Birmingham, Ala.) has entered into an agreement that will allow London-based Penhaligon's to open boutiques in several of its Saks Fifth Avenue stores over the next few years. Locations opening in the fall of 2002 include Houston, Miami, Las Vegas, Tysons Corner, Virginia, San Francisco and Chicago.

Saks Fifth Avenue currently houses a leased Penhaligon's boutique in its New York flagship store that will be converted into an owned boutique. In its markets, Saks Fifth Avenue will be the exclusive point of distribution for Penhaligon's-branded products, along with the freestanding Penhaligon's stores. The boutiques are known for fine perfumes, skin care products and leather goods.

“TheÉPenhaligon's merchandise will be a great addition to our Saks Fifth Avenue stores and perfect for our discerning customers seeking an inviting luxury experience,” said Christina Johnson, president and ceo of Saks Fifth Avenue Enterprises.

Saks Fifth Avenue Enterprises (SFAE) is a part of Saks Inc. and includes 61 Saks Fifth Avenue stores and 52 Off 5th stores. Saks Inc. also operates its Saks Department Store Group (SDSG), which consists of 243 department stores under the names of Parisian, Proffitt's, McRae's, Younkers, Herberger's, Carson Pirie Scott, Bergner's and Boston Store.
