Neiman Marcus reports strong same-store sales increases for June

The Neiman Marcus Group (Dallas) reported a 10.3 percent increase in company-wide same-store sales for June 2003, a five-week month period ending July 5, 2003.

Total revenues for the month increased 13.4 percent.

Same-store revenues in the Specialty Retail Stores segment, which includes Neiman Marcus Stores and Bergdorf Goodman, increased 6.1 percent.

Stores in the northeast and west had the strongest sales results for the month, according to the luxury specialty store retailer. The strongest merchandise categories included women's apparel and shoes, designer handbags and designer jewelry.

The company said that, based on the current sales trends, it anticipates same-store revenues for the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2003 to increase in the range of 5-7 percent.
