Announcing that it was ramping up for holiday season, Jos. A. Bank Clothiers (Hampstead, Md.) will open seven new stores in the next 30 days. The company has already opened 14 new stores this year.

The seven new stores – all in malls or “lifestyle centers” — are located in the company's existing store markets, including Pittsburgh, Clarendon, Va., Dallas, Marlton, N.J., Denver, Columbus, Ohio, and Louisville, Ky.

“We are strongly committed to our store-opening program,” said ceo Robert Wildrick, referring to the menswear retailer's previously announced plans to double its store count by 2003. “We are pleased to have these new sites open in many of our strongest markets as we prepare for the critical holiday season.”

The nearly one hundred-year-old company currently operates about 130 stores it owns or franchises in nearly 30 states.
