Enters new retail category

Published

on

Amazon Inc. (Seattle) is developing plans for a grocery store that will allow customers to place orders for consumables online and schedule a drive-up pickup time.

Fortune reports that while the idea is still in its planning phases and not a definite rollout, this move would allow Amazon to break into the grocery market and change the way customers run their errands.

If the concept is launched, the first store will likely be located in California. Amazon has not yet commented on the story.
