American Tire to Sell Tire Pro Stores

St. Louis and California locations acquired during acquisition

American Tire Distributors (Huntersville, N.C.) plans to sell off the 37 Tire Pro retail locations it acquired as part of its Am-Pac Tire Distributors acquisition in 2008.

The company told the Securities Exchange Commission that the stores are not core to its business and therefore plan to divest the locations during 2009. The Tire Pros stores are located in the St. Louis and Southern California areas, and were acquired in December 2008 in ATD’s $74.9 million purchase of Am-Pac.
