Report of new stores revealed during shareholder meeting

Apple Inc. (Cupertino, Calif.) revealed plans to open 25 retail stores in China during its annual shareholders meeting, according to the Apple Insider website. The event was closed to press, but Apple Insider reports that Philip Elmer-DeWitt of Fortune Brainstorm Tech provided the update.

Apple entered the Chinese market in 2008 with a store in Beijing.
