India Permits Long-Awaited Apple Store Debut

Apple (Cupertino, Calif.) will finally be allowed to open its flagship Apple Store retail outlets in India, according to Bidness Etc.

The Indian government has decided to relax its rule that single-brand stores must source at least 30 percent of products from the local industry, which had kept Apple's plan to open stores in India at bay. Apple will be exempt from the sourcing rule for two to three years, or until it manages to report strong sales in the region.
