Belk (Charlotte, N.C.) announced Nir Patel, former President and Chief Merchandising Officer for the company, will be stepping into the CEO position, replacing Lisa Harper, according to a company press release. Harper had been CEO since 2016 and will become the company’s Executive Board Chair of the Belk Board of Directors.

Chris Kolbe, formerly of Kohl’s (Menomonee Falls, Wis.), will move into the Chief Merchant position for the company, while Don Hendricks will be promoted from Belk’s Chief Operating Officer to President.

Patel says, “I’m honored to continue the great legacy of Belk … We quickly adapted to the challenges the pandemic threw at us this past year. I’m proud of our team’s ability to stay focused on what really matters to our customers – having the best products and making their shopping experience safe and seamless. We’ve accomplished so much already, and I’m excited to see all the ways that we’ll continue to grow.”
