Blockbuster to Close 300 Locations

Will leave company with about 500 stores in U.S.

Dallas-based Blockbuster announced the closing of hundreds of stores in the coming weeks, Dish spokesman John Hall told CNNMoney.

The video rental retailer, which was bought by Dish Network in 2010 after undergoing bankruptcy proceedings, plans to close about 300 stores and cut about 3000 jobs.

Locations of the closures have not been released yet.
