Bob Verdisco to Retire from IMRA

Robert Verdisco, president of the International Mass Retail Association (IMRA, Arlington, Va.), has announced his retirement effective Dec. 31, 2002. The IMRA board of directors will begin a search for a replacement, though if one is not in place by Jan. 1, 2003, Verdisco has agreed to continue as president until a successor is found.

Verdisco has been IMRA's president since 1990. Before that, he was vp of government relations. His career has included stints as executive assistant and attorney advisory to the chairman of the Consumer Product Safety Commission; an antitrust trial attorney in the office of the executive legal director at the Nuclear Regulatory Commission; and as a trial attorney at the Federal Trade Commission.
