Bon-Ton Announces Executive Changes

President of merchandising to leave; appoints new chief marketing officer.

The Bon-Ton Stores Inc. (York, Pa.) vice chairman and president – merchandising Tony Buccina plans to retire after 20 years with the company. Buccina will leave the company next February.

A search for a new chief merchandising officer will begin immediately.

“I am pleased Tony is staying on through the fiscal year to assist me in my transition here at Bon-Ton,” says Brendan Hoffman, president and ceo. “Tony has been a great partner to both our vendor community and to me. I appreciate the leadership and the contributions he has provided to the company over the years and will continue to provide this year.”

Additionally, Bon-Ton announced the appointment of Luis Fernandez to the newly created position of executive vp and chief marketing officer. His responsibilities will include sales promotion and marketing and eCommerce. Fernandez joins Bon-Ton from Neiman Marcus Group where he most recently served as vp, Last Call marketing and customer insight.

Bon-Ton Stores operates 272 department stores in 23 states in the Northeast, Midwest and upper Great Plains under the Bon-Ton, Bergner’s, Boston Store, Carson Pirie Scott, Elder-Beerman, Herberger’s and Younkers nameplates.
