Carl’s Jr. to Add 100 Restaurants in Brazil

Carl’s Jr., a CKE Restaurants Inc. (Carpinteria, Calif.) subsidiary, has signed an agreement with International Meal Company (Sao Paulo, Brazil) to open 100 Carl’s Jr. restaurants in Brazil during the next seven years. IMC is a multi-brand, quick-service restaurant operator.

“Brazil has one of the most robust economies in the world and our premium-quality food and up-market facilities will resonate well with the discerning Brazilian consumer,” says Ned Lyerly, executive vp, CKE.

The parent company operates 3243 restaurants in the U.S. and around the globe under such banners as Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s.
