Changes to LEED 2012 Announced … and More Industry News

MANAGEMENT CHANGES
The Carlson Group (Lombard, Ill.) is welcoming Erico Hara, who will serve as senior industrial designer for the company’s active lifestyle and athletic brands. In addition, Matt Dean has joined the company as an industrial designer. Dean has experience with Weber, Dell, Avery-Dennison and Kraft.

Dunkin’ Brands Group Inc. (Canton, Mass.) promoted Neil Moses to chief global strategy officer and promoted Paul Carbone to chief financial officer.

JCPenney Co. Inc. (Plano, Texas) is announcing three changes to its staff. John Tighe has been named general merchandise manager of the men’s division, Paul Rutenis has been promoted to senior vp and general merchandise manager for the home division, and Preston Moxcey is joining the company as a merchandise manager for men’s clothing and accessories.

Rob Coleman is joining Nazdar SourceOne (Shawnee, Kan.) as its segment marketing manager for textile screen inks. Coleman has 20 years of experience, and previously worked for PolyOne Wilflex.

Anthony Simon has joined TPG Architecture (New York) as design director.

STORE OPENINGS
Stop & Shop Supermarket Co. LLC (Quincy, Mass.) opened a second store in Pembroke, Mass. The 45,000-square-foot space offers meat, seafood, natural and organic departments.

Dickey’s Barbecue is planning its first restaurant in New Jersey’s Toms River area, with franchise owner Meg Morales at the helm. The company currently has more than 230 locations.

Bar Louie, under the BL Restaurant Operations (Addison, Texas) LLC umbrella, opened a new restaurant in Rockville, Md.’s Rockville Town Center on Gibbs Street.

Casual-dining franchise Quaker Steak & Lube (Sharon, Pa.) plans to expand its presence in Denver and Colorado Springs, Colo. The chain currently operates one franchise location in Denver.

BUSINESS BRIEFS
The U.S. Green Building Council has announced changes to LEED 2012 in response to concerns raised by participants, which will delay ballot on LEED 2012 until June 1, 2013. Due to the date change, LEED 2012 has been renamed LEED v4. Other changes include offering a fifth opportunity for public comment from October 2 to December 10. This date range includes special sessions at the Greenbuild 2012 conference in San Francisco.

The Digital Signage Expo issued its 2013 call for speaker proposals, which are due July 16. The conference is dedicated to digital signage and interactive technology, and will take place February 26-28, 2013, at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Proposals from end users, network operators, ad agencies and brand marketers are welcome. For more information, visit the U.S. Green Building Council online.
