Cheesecake Factory Names President

Michael Jannini comes from hospitality sector

The Cheesecake Factory Inc. (Calabasas Hills, Calif.) has appointed Michael Jannini as president. Jannini, a former executive with Marriott Intl. Inc., will be responsible for restaurant operations, marketing, purchasing and quality assurance.

The company also promoted David Gordon to chief operating officer of its restaurants. He previously served as senior vp, operations.

The restaurant company, which operates 161 restaurants in the U.S. under the Cheesecake Factory and RockSugar Pan Asian Kitchen nameplates, reported a fourth-quarter loss, related to impairment charges and flat sales.
