China Becoming Coach’s No.1 Market

Retailer expects $500 million in sales from country in next three years

Coach Inc. (New York) expects to reach $300 million in sales in China by the end of the year and aims for $500 million by 2014, according to The Wall Street Journal.

The handbag retailer plans to add about 30 stores each year for the next three years in fast-growing urban areas outside of larger cities. By the end of 2011, Coach will operate 71 stores in China’s mainland, Hong Kong and Macau.
