New store opened near Dior flagship

Christian Dior recently opened its first fine jewelry shop, located next to the Dior flagship at 17 East 57th St., New York. Architect Peter Marino designed the 800-square-foot boutique, which features the jewelry creations of Victoire de Castellane.

The store's glass facade leads into a predominantly gray interior, which includes silk and wool carpet, gray, silk-lined brushed metal fixtures and a shaved cowhide love seat and chairs. The wallcovering alternates between fabric and mirrors, and bead and ostrich feather-trimmed pillows add a fanciful touch.
