Christopher & Banks (Minneapolis) announced ceo and president Lorna Nagler has resigned “to pursue other interests.” Also departing is Susan Connell, executive vp and chief merchandise officer of the firm.
Before joining the company, Nagler’s career included roles as president of Lane Bryant and senior vp and general merchandise manager of apparel and jewelry at Kmart.

Larry Barenbaum, a director of the Minneapolis-based company since 1992 and its chairman since 2005, has been named interim ceo while the company seeks a permanent successor. Anne Jones, a director since 2000, will serve as lead director and Jules Rouse has been named senior vp and general merchandise manager.

The company, which operates 789 stores in 46 states under the Christopher & Banks and CJ Banks nameplates, announced it incurred a loss of $2.5 million for the second quarter, while same-store sales rose 1 percent.
