* Cava (Washington, D.C.) has opened its first restaurant in the Cincinnati market. The Mediterranean chain has opened a 3200-square-foot locale in the Oakley Station complex about five miles north of the city’s downtown. It’s also the brand’s first locale in Ohio. Overall, Cava has about 420 locales and has been expanding into several other Midwest markets, including Chicago, Detroit and Indianapolis.

* The Madison Square project on Cincinnati’s northeast side will soon see the opening of two fine-dining establishments, The Cincinnati Enquirer reports. First up will be Zingaro, the latest concept from celebrity chef Fabio Viviani, which is slated to open March 24. The 8000-square-foot, 200-seat restaurant will offer Italian cuisine, handmade pasta, seafood and steak. Then, in May, celebrity chef Makato Okuwa will introduce Suzu, a 6,000-square-foot Japanese restaurant with seating for 200-plus. The Madison Square complex housing the two restaurants is a part of a mixed-used development adjacent to the headquarters complex being developed by medical-testing firm Medpace.
