“Convenience Stores” on Tap for French Connection

F by French Connection to open in London

French Connection is set to open what it calls its first “convenience store” in its hometown of London next week.

The 1000-square-foot space, dubbed “F by French Connection,” will open Monday in East London’s Old Street underground and train station, carrying a pared down selection of the label’s fall 2014 collection, along with gift items, according to Women’s Wear Daily. The project is a four-month trial, as the label considers opening other small stores at transportation hubs.

The store will offer delivery of online purchases, with orders placed before 1 p.m. ready to pick up after 5 p.m. the same day. And as a nod to East London’s reputation as a creative hub, the label will invite local artists to curate the store’s window displays.
