CVS (Woonsocket, Conn.) announced it will close dozens of pharmacies operating in Target (Minneapolis, Minn.) stores as part of its cost-saving plans. Closures will start in Feb. and end by April. Employees impacted by the closures will be offered roles within the CVS organization, a CVS spokesperson said in an email to CBS news.

These closures are part of the drugstore chain’s effort to “realign our national retail footprint and reduce store and pharmacy density,” the CVS spokesperson said. Currently, 1,800 CVS pharmacies operate in Target stores.
