David Jones

2005 Holiday Window, Sydney

Published

on

The poem “Twas the night before Christmas” by Clement Clarke Moore came to life in six window scenes at David Jones' Sydney flagship. Each window featured a large ornate storybook with an animated scene on the right page and a poem with a mouse hole window framing animated mice scenes on the left page.

All of the animations were inspired by actual text from the story. For the scene “…while visions of sugarplums danced in their heads,” designers crafted a mini 1930s theater scene with a fruit audience and a chorus of dancing sugarplums on stage.
