Lord & Taylor

2005 Holiday Window, New York

Published

on

Providing a miniature window into the world of fantasy, Lord & Taylor fashioned its windows around several popular fairy tales, including “The Twelve Dancing Princesses,” “The Princess and the Pea,” “Rumpelstiltskin,” “Goldilocks and the Three Bears,” “Jack and the Beanstalk” and “Cinderella.”

The small-scale mechanical windows featured multiple scenes from each story. The theme was also carried through to the retailer's fashion windows, which showcased several fairy tale scenes with mannequins donning the latest fashions.

“Our holiday windows bring people to Lord & Taylor every year,” says Manoel Renha, divisional vp, visual merchandising/fashion/special events. “As they say in a fairy tale, 'The fame of their beauty reached far and wide.' ”
