Dayton's No More

Company to bank on Marshall's cachet

Target Corp. (Minneapolis) announced plans to convert itsDayton's and Hudson's department stores to Marshall Field's. The company operates 21 Hudson's stores in Michigan and 19 Dayton'sstores in Minnesota and the Dakotas, in addition to the 24 stores already operating as Marshall Field's.

The change is intended to capitalize on the Marshall Field's brand name and narrow the marketing efforts to one brand name and one website, rather than three.
