New York window designer to stylize DNR

Tom Beebe, famous for his magical sets within the windows of Paul Stuart, has embarked on a new career that links his experience in fashion merchandising with the world of fashion journalism. He has signed on as creative director for the Daily News Record — a Fairchild Publication and menswear sibling of Women's Wear Daily.

Beebe says he is happy to still be a part of the men's visual market, adding that his duties will be varied. They include stylizing visual layouts for DNR supplements and visiting the important fashion datelines, like Paris and Milan, to identify industry trends. “While windows are my first passion,” Beebe says, he welcomes an even greater opportunity to “think outside the box and learn different things.”

Beebe was a creative director for Paul Stuart, serving the retailer for 13 years. He has also worked at Bergdorf Goodman and Gimbels. After leaving Paul Stuart a few months ago, Beebe stayed on the New York visual scene as a freelancer for DNR and he helped Danuta Ryder, director of visual planning for Henri Bendel, create the retailer's special holiday window display.
