Computer company ceases kiosk experiment in Sears stores

Dell Computer Corp. (Round Rock, Texas) has announced it will stop operating personal-computer sales kiosks in the Texas and Florida stores of Sears, Roebuck & Co. (Hoffman Estates, Ill.) after a four-month trial run. A spokesman for the PC group said results from the project failed to meet the expectations of the world's largest direct-sale computer vendor.
