The Walt Disney Co. (Burbank, Calif.) has opened its first Disney Store in China, located in Shanghai’s Pudong district, the same location where Disney plans to open a theme park next year, according to Bloomberg Business. The 9257-square-feet store is also now the company’s largest bricks-and-mortar store in the world.

Some design features include a castle located in the store’s center, which offers hourly music and projection shows, as well as a Marvel comic book-themed area. It also includes a “plaza outside with Disney characters hidden in the tree-covered landscape,” according to Bloomberg Business.

Bloomberg Business reports that China’s designation as the world’s second-largest economy makes it a prime target for Western brands seeking new opportunities to expand customer audiences.
