Bob Galvin, ceo of Elie Tahari Ltd. (New York) has been replaced less than a year after assuming the reins of the apparel design company in January.

He will be replaced by founder and chairman Elie Tahari. The company said Galvin will transition into a consulting role at the company, working on special projects and new business.

“I would like to thank Bob for all his efforts and accomplishments and his dedication to the brand,” Tahari said. “I look forward to working with the executive management team as we move forward during this period of exceptional growth.”

Galvin was unavailable for comment.

Amy Shecter, who joined the company as president in September, will remain in that role, reporting to Tahari.

Tahari, who founded the company in 1973, shortly after moving to the U.S. from Israel, is also the co-founder of the Theory fashion brand, but he sold his shares in that business in 2003 and is no longer involved.
