Five More Kmart Executives Depart

Two members of the Kmart executive management team and three vice presidents have left the bankrupt discount retailer's corporate offices.

David Rots, executive vp and chief administrative officer, and Tony D'Onofrio, executive vp and chief supply chain officer, were part of the team assembled by former ceo Chuck Conaway, who resigned earlier this month. The three senior vice presidents are David Montoya, John Owen and Leo Anguiano. No replacements have been named.

Kmart's executive team has turned over since Conaway was hired in May 2000. Of the 10 executive management team members, only Randy Allen, executive vp of strategic initiatives and chief diversity officer, and Cecil Kearse, executive vp of merchandising, have been with the company more than a year. The majority of the retailer's leadership, including chairman and ceo James Adamson and president and coo Julian Day, have been with Kmart for less than three months

“I am confident that these changes are a step in the right direction as we get back to the basics of our business and steer the company toward successful emergence from Chapter 11 bankruptcy,” said Adamson in a company memo.
