Gensler appoints principals; FactorsDesign launches ethnic-market initiative; Florian Architecture wins award for bank renovation

Management Changes:

Gensler Architecture, Design & Planning Worldwide (San Francisco) has appointed the following principals: James Camp, Baltimore office; Robert Cataldo, New York; J.F. Finn III, Las Vegas; Gerald Gehm and Edward Grun, Houston; Steven Martin and James Williamson, Washington, D.C.; Ernest Muñoz, Charlotte, N.C.; and Jon Tollit, London.

Carter & Burgess (Fort Worth, Texas, architecture and engineering firm) has elected Craig Hale principal and Jim Kimball associate principal. Hale is vp and national director of retail stores for the firm's retail and distribution division in Fort Worth and Kimball is vp and managing principal of the firm's Boston office.

Fiberstars Inc. (Fremont, Calif., supplier of fiberoptic lighting) has hired Paul Schooley as national sales manager, Fiberstars EFO.

Design Fabrications Inc. (D|Fab, Madison Heights, Mich., retail design and graphics manufacturing company) has hired David Henderson as senior account executive.

Marlite (Dover, Ohio, provider of commercial wall products and retail merchandising solutions) has named Robert Perilstein its Northeast representative.

J.E. Dunn – North Central (Eden Prairie, Minn., general contractor) has hired Kurt Arentsen as senior project manager.

Macerich Co. (Santa Monica, Calif., real estate investment trust focused on regional malls) has hired Greg Millsap as assistant manager, property management at Lakewood Center in Lakewood, Calif.

FactorsDesign (Columbus, Ohio, retail design firm) has launched a new creative initiative offering insight and creative solutions to organizations seeking to tap growing ethnic markets. The new effort is lead by William Sands, the firm's president and ceo.

Kendall Ross (Seattle brand development and design firm) has been named agency of record for Lincoln Square, a 1.4 million-square-foot mixed-use development in Bellevue, Wash., that's being built by Kemper Development Co. (Bellevue, Wash.).


Awards:

Florian Architects (Chicago) has won a 2005 National Honor Award from the American Institute of Architects for design excellence in the renovation of the 1928 landmark Hyde Park Bank building in Chicago.

Bandit Lites (Knoxville, Tenn.) has been named Pollstar Awards Lighting Company of the Year.
