For the Week of November 11th Limited appoints new board member; REI.com named exclusive online retailer; Transformit receives award

Management Changes:

Madix Store Fixtures (Terrell, Texas, store fixture manufacturer) has promoted Robert Hilton to director of sales and John Clontz to director of marketing and e-business.

Rayven Inc. (St. Paul, Minn., manufacturer and supplier of printing products) has appointed Stephen Wells national sales representative of digital media graphics. Wells is responsible for sales in the eastern U.S. and Canada and southeastern U.S., supporting VAR dealers and developing custom print media.

Mergers/Acquisitions:

CIL International Ltd. (London retail interior specialists) and Anglo Retail Manufacturing Ltd. (Hertfordshire, England, retail equipment supplier) have proposed a merger of the two companies. The enlarged company will retain both the CIL and Anglo brand names and will be headquartered in CIL's current offices, with its manufacturing operations at an Anglo plant.

Business Briefs:

Limited Brands (Columbus specialty store retailer) has named James Heskett to its board of directors. Heskett is a Baker Foundation Professor at the Harvard University Graduate School of Business Administration.

REI (Seattle outdoor gear and clothing retailer) has been appointed the exclusive online outdoor gear retailer for TheAway.com Network (Washington, D.C., internet site operator), which operates three web sites for outdoor enthusiasts. Through the partnership, REI.com will be linked to outsideonline.com, the online edition of Outside Magazine; Gorp.com, an encyclopedic resource for outdoor recreation; and away.com, an online travel database.

Anne McKevitt, British home style and decor celebrity and author of Style Solutions, is making her U.S. debut with the launch of an American line of products, targeting women ages 25 to 45, through retail, direct response television and e-commerce. McKevitt will introduce more than 100 products, including paints, bedding, bath accessories, crafts, flooring and lighting, many of which will be manufactured under license by American home decor corporations, including Mohawk Industries, Spring Industries and WestPoint Stevens. The Beanstalk Group (New York brand licensing agency) has been appointed to manage the program.

Econoco Corp. (Hicksville, N.Y., store fixture and display product manufacturer and supplier) has announced that Guaranteed Overnight Delivery (G.O.D.) and Roadway Express are the new choice carriers for the company's national customer base. G.O.D. will handle shipments from its new Hazleton, Pa., distribution center for the northeast region, while Roadway Express will deliver all long-haul shipments from its three distribution centers in Hazleton, Pa., Chicago and Los Angeles.

Transformit (Gorham, Maine, tension-fabric structure design, manufacturing and rental company) received the Award of Excellence from the Industrial Fabrics Association International's 2002 International Achievement Awards. The award recognizes Transformit for its design and fabrication of a series of larger-than-life internally illuminated fabric lanterns in the atriums of The Great Indoors stores in Broomfield, Colo., Novi, Mich., and Woodbridge, N.J.

Laura Coe Design Associates (San Diego design firm) will be recognized in the Global Corporate Identity book to be released in summer 2003. Among the company's programs chosen for inclusion in the book are Ballena Vista Farm, a thoroughbred horse farm, and Taylor Made Golf. Among the firm's packaging design projects to be included are Titleist Foot Joy, ProAction, As We Change and Hewlett-Packard Co.
