MaggieMoo's International LLC (Columbia, Md.), which owns and franchises over 100 fresh-made ice cream units nationwide, announced the appointment of Jonathan Jameson as its new president and ceo.

Jameson joins MaggieMoo's, effective immediately, from Panera Bread Co. (Richmond Heights, Mo.), where he was senior vp and chief brand officer.

The ice cream company said it is entering a period of aggressive growth with plans to open 1000 units by 2007. A just-completed, privately placed investment will help drive the future expansion, new product concept development and brand building.

“Jon Jameson is among the most talented and respected brand-builders in the nation,” said Stuart Olsten, chairman of the operating board at MaggieMoo's. “Our board was unanimous in its support of Jon as the best person to lead the company and ensure that we realize the full value of our brand.”

Jameson recently received a “Marketer of Year” award from BrandWeek magazine. Prior to Panera Bread, Jameson served Denny's Restaurant Inc. (Spartanburg, S.C.) as senior vp and coo.
