Guess? Inc. (Los Angeles) reported a 26 percent increase in net earnings for its fourth quarter ended Dec. 31, 2004. Sales gained 12.3 percent in the quarter.

For the full year, the company reported a 14.6 percent gain in total net revenue and a 15.9 percent increase in sales at the company’s retail stores, including those in Canada. Same-store sales increased 9.9 percent.

“The fourth quarter capped off a strong year for Guess?,” said president and coo Carlos Alberini. “Results for the quarter reflect sales and margin growth, including improved wholesale performance and a higher licensing contribution. As anticipated, retail sales growth during the quarter moderated from the pace seen earlier in the year, and we experienced higher expenses in this segment due to the launch of our new concepts, Marciano and Guess? Accessories.”
