Fourth quarters revenue sees double-digit increase

Guess? Inc. (Los Angeles) reports its global revenue increased net revenue grew 17.9 percent to $756.9 million for the fourth quarter of fiscal 2011.

Revenue from retail stores in North America increased 9.4 percent, while same-store sales decreased 1.1 percent in U.S. dollars and 2.1 percent in local currency. Its Europe segment saw revenue increase 32.5 percent; in Asia, net revenue was up 23.2 percent.

“This has been another successful year of record results where we made substantial progress toward many important objectives,” says ceo Paul Marciano. “Our focus on international expansion continues to pay off, with Europe and Asia contributing nearly two-thirds of our annual revenue increase.

Marciano adds that the company opened 237 new stores during the fiscal year. The brand will continue to focus new product designs and styles, building its operational platform, and developing strategic markets.

Guess owns and operates 481 retail stores in the U.S. and Canada.
