JCPenney Markets its Price-Match Policy

For holiday shopping season

JCPenney (Plano, Texas) announced some of its plans for this year’s holiday shopping season, including a new marketing campaign based on its price-match policy.

Starting Nov. 13, the retailer will offer an extra discount of 5 percent on national brands to beat competitors’ prices. It also is expanding the time for which it will honor a price match, from 7 to 14 days. The retailer plans to more prominently advertise those policies this shopping season.

Other plans include posting signage identifying how much products will cost when store coupons are factored in as well as signs grouping giftable items by price, such as $5, $10 and $25.

The retailer also announced its plans to open at 3 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day. That is the same time it opened last year, and this will be its third year opening on the holiday, reports The Dallas Morning News.
