JCPenney (Plano, Texas) is expanding its pilot program to sell appliances in 500 locations, up from 22.

The department store sold appliances from 1963 to 1983 under its own brand, Penncrest, reports Fortune. The retailer now offers home appliances such as refrigerators and washing machines made by brand names like General Electric, Hotpoint, LG and Samsung.

In addition to expanding the program to additional stores, JCPenney is offering aggressive discounts, special financing, price-matching, and free delivery and basic installation in order to gain back market share from its competitor, Sears (Hoffman Estates, Ill.).
