FAO Schwarz (New York) has launched a multi-room furniture boutique in its New York flagship store, in conjunction with children's furniture manufacturer PJ Kids (Princeton, N.J.).

The 700-square-foot Rooms to Dream furniture boutique is dedicated to children's furniture, bedding, lamps, rugs and other decorative accessories, a first for the toy retailer.

The furniture boutique includes a selection of lamps, rugs, bedding, sofabeds and slipcovered chairs, occasional table and chair sets, toy boxes, wall art and even drawer pulls to enhance a child's room. Motifs, patterns, colors and themes abound to cover a multitude of tastes for every age group and style preference.

A window display features a Once Upon a Time theme for the “quintessential princess,” a Serengeti theme for the adventurous child on a safari and a “lazy day at the Cape” theme for the Nautical Nursery.

Inside, there's also a Taj Mahal backdrop for the Simply Sweet distressed ivory bedroom furniture; rustic overtones of an old lodge and a rough and tumble log cabin for the Adirondack grouping; and a sports theme for the colorful, hand-painted High Five collection.

The Rooms to Dream boutique is slated to be rolled out this fall in the other FAO Schwarz flagship stores: Orlando, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Seattle and Boston.
