Krispy Kreme Debuts in Dominican Republic

Krispy Kreme Doughnut Corp. (Winston-Salem, N.C.) has partnered with franchisee Dominspec S.A. to open its first Krispy Kreme doughnut shop in the Dominican Republic.

The new shop, located in the center of Santo Domingo on Winston Churchill Avenue, is the first of 14 Krispy Kreme locations planned to open over the next five years.

“We are pleased to announce that our signature doughnuts are now available in the beautiful city of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic,” says Jim Morgan, president and ceo of Krispy Kreme. “Our franchise partner, Dominspec, S.A., is an experienced QSR operator that knows this exciting market extremely well.”

Krispy Kreme operates in 20 countries, including the U.S., Australia, Bahrain, Canada, China, Dominican Republic, Indonesia, Japan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Malaysia, Mexico, the Philippines, Puerto Rico, Qatar, the Republic of Korea, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates and the U.K.

Dominspec, part of a conglomerate, has experience working with such brands as Burger King and Papa John's.
