Lands’ End Reports Income Drop

Q3 results attributed to seasonably warm weather

Published

Lands’ End (Dodgeville, Wis.) reported the results from its most recent third-quarter earnings report, which included a drop in net income by about 40 percent. Net income for the quarter reached $10.7 million, down from $18 million the retailer brought in last year. Sales also declined for the quarter by about 10 percent, down to $334.4 million from $373.1 million last year.

This news marked the retailer’s fourth straight quarter of declining numbers. According to the Journal Sentinel, part of the decline can be attributed to unseasonably warm weather that hurt cold-weather products’ performances as well as reduction in promotions and catalog circulation.
