LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton, the Paris-based luxury goods maker, has opened its largest Vuitton megastore to date on Omotesando Avenue in Tokyo. This marks the company's attempt to gain an even bigger slice of one of the world's largest luxury goods markets.

LVMH didn't disclose how much it had invested in the store, the 44th outlet in its Vuitton leather goods chain in Japan, which accounts for over a third of all LVMH's revenue.

Vuitton has 300 stores worldwide and traditionally accounts for about 40 percent of the group's operating profit.

LVMH operates numerous brands, including Christian Dior, Guerlain and Givenchy perfumes; bliss, Hard Candy and BeneFit cosmetics; Christian Lacroix, Donna Karan, Givenchy, Kenzo and Louis Vuitton fashion and leather goods; and TAG Heuer, Ebel, Chaumet and Fred Joaillier watches and jewelry. LVMH's retail division includes Sephora cosmetics stores, Synchrony watch shops, Solstice sunglass outlets and 61 percent of DFS Group (duty-free travel stores).
