For its 2008 Flower Show, Macy’s decided to salute iconic fashion looks through the ages. Each window was dedicated to a particular look, featuring a mannequin wearing a custom-designed outfit constructed of artificial flowers that blended seamlessly with the real flowers and plants that surrounded them.

The time warp trip included a French garden at Versailles with Marie Antoinette and Twiggy’s signature style. Celebrity model mannequins (from Adel Rootstein) added to the decade-correct styling. Witty stories that put the fashions into historical context were included on window graphics.
