Sears considering reducing certain product lines

Sears Roebuck (Hoffman Estates, Ill.), which announced earlier this month that it was closing 90 of its stores, said today that it is also examining cutting back on its product lines. The retail giant, which saw its profits from operations tumble 14 percent in its fourth quarter, wants to make room in its stores for top-selling categories like appliances.
