After two years and $300 million in construction costs, the first indoor, suburban-style mall built in New York City in 40 years opened this week in The Bronx.

The 780,000-square-foot Mall at Bay Plaza in Baychester features several high-end retailers who will be making their first appearance in the borough, including the first Macy’s store built from the ground up in three decades, according to the Daily News.

For the grand opening, the Art Deco-inspired mall is 71 percent occupied by stores such as H&M, Ulta, Forever 21, Michael Kors and anchor store JCPenney, which are complemented by an 800-seat food court and four sit-down restaurants, including the borough’s first Olive Garden and Red Robin.
