Meijer (Grand Rapids, Mich.) has introduced a new service called Order to Store, which allows shoppers to place an order on Meijer.com and have the merchandise shipped free of charge to their local Meijer store for pick-up.

The online program includes thousands of items found on the merchant’s website, including furniture and home products, sporting goods, kitchen appliances, garden and outdoor items, toys, and health and beauty items.

Customers can designate which Meijer store they would like to use as their pick-up location. Once the order is received by the store, the customer will receive email notification that their items are ready for pick-up. Returns can also be made at their local Meijer.

“This is another example of how Meijer is making the online shopping experience as convenient and affordable as possible for our customers,” says Rick Keyes, executive vp, supply chain operations and e-commerce. “Not only are we eliminating shipping costs, we're also enabling shoppers to return the items to their local stores. This is a money- and time-saving program that allows even more customers to take advantage of the great offerings we have at Meijer.com.”

Order to Store accepts online coupons and guarantees delivery within 5-7 days of the order.
