Michael Francis Leaving JCPenney

JCPenney Co. Inc.’s president Michael Francis is leaving the company after eight months with the department store retailer, Women’s Wear Daily reports. Francis came to Penney’s from Target Corp.

The retailer issued a release with a statement from ceo Ron Johnson that stated, “We thank Michael for his hard work at J.C. Penney and wish him the best in his future endeavors.”

At this time, Johnson will assume direct responsibility and oversight of the company’s marketing and merchandising functions.
