Microsoft to Open Manhattan Flagship

Fifth Avenue location to offer full product lines

Details are emerging about the planned Microsoft (Redmond, Wash.) store in New York. The New York Business Journal and the Wall Street Journal report that the store will be located at 667 Fifth Avenue, currently a Fendi store. The location will the first flagship store for Microsoft. Smaller Manhattan Microsoft stores are located at Columbus Circle and the Staten Island Mall.

The Fifth Avenue location is just blocks from Apple’s well-known “glass cube” Manhattan flagship. The “experiential” space, as Microsoft executives have dubbed it, is expected to allow guests to interact with products, including X-Box game consoles.
