Moncler (Milan) announced it has signed a lease agreement for a new flagship store on Fifth Avenue in New York, scheduled to open in early 2026. Located in the General Motors building at 767 Fifth Avenue, it will be the largest store in Moncler’s global retail network, with just under 24,000 square feet over two floors.

“The move mirrors Moncler’s commitment to the U.S. market and its dedication to increasing the brand’s global impact and resonance in the country,” the retailer said in a news release. “The prestigious location will offer a unique brand experience not just to New Yorkers but also to communities from around the world to discover, engage and connect with the Moncler brand.”

The space housing the Moncler store has been home to several retailers over the years, a variety of publications report, including FAO Schwarz and a temporary Apple store. Most recently, Women’s Wear Daily reports, Under Armour had planned to build its largest store in the world on the site, but nixed the idea when it encountered financial struggles.

The brand’s other New York stores are on Prince Street and Madison Avenue. Overall, Moncler operates 34 stores in the U.S. and about 270 overall.

Founded in 1952, the brand was acquired in 2003 by Italian entrepreneur Remo Ruffini, its current Chairman and CEO, who began a strategy of global expansion in the luxury goods segment.
