The Neiman Marcus Group Inc. (Dallas) has named former Sears, Roebuck executive Steven Dennis as senior vp, strategy, business development and multi-channel marketing. Dennis will report to president and ceo Burton Tansky.

Prior to this appointment, Dennis had spent 12 years with Sears (Hoffman Estates, Ill.), where he was most recently vp, corporate strategy. During his tenure with Sears, Dennis led the retailer’s multi-channel efforts and played a key role in the creation of the new Sears Grand store concept and the acquisition of Lands’ End.

Prior to Sears, he spent five years with The NutraSweet Co. (Chicago) in a variety of business development and new product marketing roles, and two years with Booz, Allen & Hamilton Inc. (McLean, Va.) as a strategy consultant.

“Steven’s depth of experience in the retail industry makes him a very valuable addition to our management team,” said Tansky. “We are committed to growing our core business while also exploring new opportunities and I am confident that Steven’s strengths and expertise will help us realize our long-term strategic goals.”
