Flagship to occupy landmark New York building

Polo Ralph Lauren Corp. (New York) will open a Club Monaco flagship Saturday, a two-level, 12,000-square-foot store in a landmark building at 699 Fifth Ave.

Deborah Berke (New York-based architect) designed the new store, which features 20-ft.-high storefront windows. The first two levels of the building will house women's apparel, shoes and cosmetics and men's wear, respectively. The top two floors will be devoted to offices.

Polo Ralph Lauren Corp. acquired the Canadian-based retailer in May 1999. The company recently announced it would close 11 poorly performing Club Monaco stores.
