New Look Launches Menswear-Only Stores

Five stores to open by end of year

New Look (Weymouth, England) announced its plans to open five stores by the end of the year that will only sell menswear. Three of the locations include stores in Manchester, England; Portsmouth, England and Wigan, England. The other two locations are still under negotiation.

The retailer has been testing the concept of a menswear-only store over the last 18 months. One of the stores where the concept was tested was at its Oxford Circus flagship store in London, where it overhauled its existing menswear area with masculine furniture, dark wooden floors and steel accents. Those changes helped account for an increase of 67 percent in menswear sales.

According to The Telegraph, menswear is the fastest growing sector for fashion retailers, while sales are expected to grow by 25 percent over the next five years.
