Nordstrom Debuts in Toronto

Plans two more stores for Canadian city

Nordstrom (Seattle) has opened it first department store in Toronto at the downtown mall, Eaton Centre.

The mall also houses a Hudson Bay flagship and the first Saks Fifth Avenue in Canada, reports The Seattle Times. By next Spring, Nordstrom plans to open more stores in Toronto’s Yorkdale Centre and Sherway Gardens.

“Canada seems like the natural first stepping-off point to go international,” said Jamie Nordstrom, the president of Nordstrom. “We’re certainly aware of what other retailers have done, and we try to be students of how different people have approached that.”
